See and Do

Within the local area there are a huge variety of things to do, The Glenlivet distillery is a 5-minute walk away and has a good tour and café. With beautiful scenery there are several marked walks and we are just off famous hiking routes such as the Speyside way. On good sunny day it’s worth a walk-up Ben Rinnes which is the highest peak in Moray and can be seen from the cottages. Just up the road there is also the Glenlivet Hill Trek that offers off-road tours over the Glenlivet estate.

The Glenlivet estate has the Glenlivet Mountain Bike trails just down the road near Tomitoul and cycle hire is available. We also have a couple of bikes than can be used when staying at the cottages.

Fishing is available throughout the area and we do have some fishing on the Avon and Livet (please check availability)

The local area has plenty of amazing castles and gardens to see, the ruins of Drumin and Blairfindy are a short walk away form the cottages and within an hour’s drive you can find Balmoral, Ballindaloch, Cawdor to name a few and the fantastic walled gardens at Gordon Castle.

For those guests wanting to eat out there are selection of establishments in Abelour, Tomintoul, Dufftown and Grantown-on-Spey. There are also to local pubs the Delnashaugh and the Croft which are around a 5-minute drive away.

In the winter Skiing can be found at the Lecht Ski Centre just outside Tomintoul or 45 Minutes away at Aviemore there is the Cairngorm Mountain Ski Centre.
